The Château de Fonsalette Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 1989, from a clay-limestone terroir, blends Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. Nose of prunes and spices, velvety palate and mineral freshness. To enjoy from today or until 2025, with red meats or aged cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the heart of the Côtes-du-Rhône, Château de Fonsalette perpetuates a winemaking heritage where the terroir dictates every choice.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and rounded pebbles from the Rhône hills, shaping wines of distinctive minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification: Artisanal methods, patient aging in barrels to reveal the purity of the grape varieties and the tension of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Château de Fonsalette Fonsalette 1989
To the eye: Garnet robe with brick-red hues, of silky density and a brilliance subtly veiled by time.
On the nose: Aromas of candied prune and red berry compote intertwine with notes of toasted cinnamon, fresh black pepper and a saline touch reminiscent of damp undergrowth.
On the palate: Velvety texture, silky yet still present tannins, lively acidity carrying a chalky minerality and a long finish, where soft spices and earthy nuances intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
