Personalise your experience
The Château du Tertre 2001, Grand Cru Classé de Margaux, is born on gravelly soils. This vintage, marked by notes of blackcurrant, violet, and toast, combines structure and finesse. Its silky tannins and minerality make it an ideal companion for red meats or aged cheeses.
Château du Tertre
Nestled at the heart of the Margaux appellation, this historic estate embodies the elegance of an exceptional terroir, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir: 52 hectares in a single block, on gravelly and sandy soils of the Left Bank, where minerality and freshness are expressed with precision.
- Vinification: A quest for balance between tradition and modernity, for wines where the finesse of the tannins rivals the aromatic depth.
Tasting notes for Château du Tertre Tertre 2001
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tiled reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First, aromas of ripe blackcurrant and fresh violet, followed by a touch of sweet liquorice and a mineral hint reminiscent of graphite, before opening up to notes of toasted bread and soft spices.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, where the melted tannins support a long and saline finish, marked by bursts of dark fruit and a persistent elegance.
Serve at 16 °C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2001
A vintage where the ripeness of the grapes met a preserved freshness, offering a wine that is both generous and structured.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed through 2030 and beyond, provided it is stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity, and away from light).
