A historic estate of the Margaux appellation, Château du Tertre combines a classified heritage with meticulous craftsmanship since 1855.
- Terroir: 52 hectares of Garonne gravel, poor and well-drained soils that sculpt the elegance of Margaux wines.
- Vinification: traditional blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, aged with patience to reveal finesse and complexity.
Tasting Notes for Château du Tertre Tertre 1972
To the eye – Garnet robe with terracotta reflections, of a silky density and a clarity preserved despite the decades.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blackberry, aged cedar, blonde tobacco and damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate – Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality; the long, precise finish releases notes of liquorice and woodland mushroom.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its bouquet.
