The Château du Tertre 2002, classified in 1855, expresses the graves of Margaux. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it captivates with its aromas of blackcurrant and violet. On the palate, silky tannins and mineral freshness. Pairings: lamb or cheeses. Cellaring potential until 2030.
Rooted on the gravelly heights of Margaux, this historic estate combines Bordeaux tradition with contemporary expertise.
- Terroir: Deep Günzian graves, a mineral setting where the noble grape varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot – draw their purity.
- Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels for an elegant structure, where the tension of the fruit embraces the finesse of the wood.
Tasting notes for Château du Tertre 2002
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First fresh aromas of blackcurrant and violet, followed by deeper notes of cedar, blond tobacco and a saline touch reminiscent of damp autumnal undergrowth.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and harmonious finish where dark fruits and soft spices intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
