The Château Margaux 2000, Premier Grand Cru Classé, expresses the gravelly terroir of the Médoc. This wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) and Merlot (10%), aged in oak barrels, reveals aromas of blackcurrant and violet. Its silky and mineral palate can be enjoyed through 2060 alongside a beef tenderloin.
Château Margaux

- Terroir : Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the Margaux appellation, bestowing upon the wines a mineral elegance and a uniquely refined aromatic finesse.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend, aged for an extended period in new oak barrels for a silky structure and refined complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Margaux 2000
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a generous and precise wine.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry, and black cherry intertwine, lifted by floral notes of violet and faded rose, before opening up to accents of cedar, blond tobacco, and a hint of vanilla, the hallmark of a masterfully handled aging process.
On the palate – A silky and dense texture, driven by a vibrant acidity and a chalky minerality, where the melted tannins stretch into a long and persistent finish, giving way to nuances of dark chocolate, truffle, and a subtle saltiness.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A sun-drenched vintage, marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a perfect balance between power and elegance.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed from today, yet capable of improving until 2060 under ideal storage conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
