The Echezeaux Grand Cru 2023 from Domaine Emmanuel Rouget expresses a clay-limestone terroir. From 70-year-old vines, aged in new barrels (50%), this red wine offers spices and a generous palate, structured by a vibrant minerality. Perfect after 5-10 years with rich dishes.
Heir to a legendary expertise in the Côte de Nuits, this family estate perpetuates Henri Jayer's exacting standards through wines of rare precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Burgundy Grand Crus, between Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echézeaux, where Pinot Noir expresses its minerality and depth.
- Winemaking: Meticulous barrel aging in oak, cold maceration and rigorous sorting for cuvées that are both powerful and elegant.
Tasting notes for Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux Grand Cru 2023
To the eye: Intense purple robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh black cherry, wild violet and licorice, lifted by a touch of white pepper and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a limestone minerality, with a long and structured finish marked by fine, persistent tannins.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
