The Jérôme Gradassi estate, located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône, is the creation of Jérôme Gradassi, a former Michelin-starred chef turned winemaker in 2004. Across 5 hectares of sandy and clay soils in the Palastor, Bois Dauphin, and Cabrière lieux-dits, this organic domain thrives in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The 2022 Rouge cuvée, a still red wine, blends 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, vinified with whole bunches in concrete vats and aged for 12 months in used barrels for an elegant expression.
On tasting, this wine reveals an opaque ruby hue and an intense nose of ripe black fruits, such as blackberry, with hints of violet and smoke. On the palate, it delivers a fleshy texture, supple tannins, and a lingering finish, marked by notes of cassis and spice. Perfect with a beef rib or Provençal daube, the Jérôme Gradassi Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022 captivates with its finesse and southern richness.
