The Krug Rosé 29th Edition, born from the chalky terroirs of Champagne, is a blend of 29 wines (2010–2017). This extra brut rosé, dominated by Pinot Noir (53%, of which 11% macerated), reveals aromas of raspberry and cherry, enhanced by toasted notes. On the palate, its silky texture and minerality stretch into a harmonious finish. Ideal from now or until 2050, it pairs with crustaceans and roasted poultry.
Founded in 1843 in Reims, Krug embodies the standard of a champagne of assemblage where each cuvée draws from a library of reserve wines to reveal a timeless complexity.
- Terroir : More than 250 plots in Champagne, chalky and limestone soils, a cool and continental climate shaping wines of a unique mineral tension.
- Winemaking : Blend of wines from several vintages, extended aging in barrels and bottles, extra-brut dosage to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Krug Rosé 29th Edition
To the eye – A salmon robe with copper highlights, of a silky luminosity and a chalky density, like a sunset over the Champagne hillsides.
On the nose – First fresh red fruits (raspberry, wild strawberry), then notes of ripe cherry and candied citrus zests, before opening onto a toasted touch and a saline minerality reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A vinous and velvety texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity, a chalky salinity that braces the palate, and a long finish where freshness and depth intertwine.
To be served between 9°C and 12°C in a wide-rimmed champagne flute to release its aromas.
Non-vintage
This cuvée, centered on the 2017 harvest, transcends climatic variations through the art of blending, combining structure and elegance.
- Aging potential : To be stored until 2050 in a cellar at a stable temperature (9°C–12°C), away from light.
