The Krug Rosé 29th Edition, a non-vintage brut rosé from Champagne, draws its soul from the chalky soils of the region. A blend of 29 wines from five vintages, including 33% reserves aged in oak barrels, it combines Pinot Noir (53%), Chardonnay (28%) and Meunier (19%). Its salmon-hued robe precedes a vibrant nose of raspberry and cherry, enhanced by toasted notes. On the palate, its silky and mineral texture is animated by soft biscuit notes and a hint of citrus. To be enjoyed now or kept for 5 to 10 years, it pairs perfectly with salmon tartare or poultry in a crust.
Founded in 1843 in Reims, Maison Krug embodies the pursuit of an exceptional champagne, shaped by the art of blending and the heritage of reserve wines.
- Terroir : The vineyards of Champagne, spread across chalky and limestone soils, offer a distinctive minerality and vibrant freshness to the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier grape varieties.
- Vinification : Fermentation in small oak barrels, extended aging in the cellar and meticulous blending of reserve wines for unique complexity.
Tasting notes for Krug Rosé 29th Edition
To the eye – A salmon-hued robe with coppery highlights, of a silky and luminous texture, heralding a rare elegance.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh raspberry and wild strawberry intertwine with deeper notes of ripe cherry, before giving way to a toasted touch and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, where the tension of red fruits marries a chalky minerality, prolonged by a long and slightly bitter finish, evoking pink grapefruit.
Serve between 9°C and 12°C in a champagne flute to preserve its freshness and balance.
Non-vintage
This champagne draws its richness from a blend of wines from five years, with the 2017 harvest bringing freshness and structure.
- Aging potential : To be kept for up to 15 years in a cool cellar and away from light, to allow its complexity to fully blossom.
