Located at 54 route des Grands Crus, in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Perrot-Minot ranks among the most sought-after names in the Côte de Nuits. Directed since 1993 by Christophe Perrot-Minot, the fourth generation of a winemaking family, this estate of around twelve hectares expresses pinot noir across a mosaic of climat appellations, including village, premier cru, and grand cru designations. Deliberately low yields, preserved old vines, manual harvesting, and vinification of jeweler-like precision: each cuvée seeks not demonstration but purity, energy, and fidelity to the terroir.

History of Domaine Perrot Minot

Domaine Perrot Minot is rooted in Burgundy’s winemaking history and is a benchmark for quality and tradition. Founded by Henri Perrot-Minot, this family estate has preserved its heritage for four generations. Its history dates back to the early 20th century, and each generation has helped build the estate’s prestigious reputation.

Terroirs, Vineyards, Viticulture and Winemaking

Terroirs and Vineyards: The estate spans exceptional terroirs, carefully selected to represent the diversity of Burgundy’s soils. Planted in renowned appellations, the vines benefit from varied terroirs that contribute to the wines’ complexity and authenticity.

Viticulture: At Domaine Perrot Minot, viticulture is characterized by an environmentally conscious approach and close attention to detail. Sustainable growing practices are favored to preserve the health of the vines and the richness of the terroir. Careful vineyard management aims to produce fully ripe grapes that reflect the potential of each plot.

Winemaking: The estate’s approach combines tradition and innovation. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure rigorous selection. Once picked, they are carefully vinified in suitable vats. Modern methods sit alongside traditional techniques, while aging in carefully selected oak barrels adds structure and complexity to the wines.

Profiles of the Estate’s Cuvées

Domaine Perrot Minot offers a range of cuvées that faithfully express its terroir and artisanal know-how.

Domaine Perrot Minot’s wines are particularly highly rated by the Revue des Vins de France: scoring 19/20, the Chambertin Perrot Minot 2013 displays refined roasted notes and a remarkably smooth, supple texture for the cru. The Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2013 Perrot Minot is somewhat more open and richer than the Chambertin, with remarkably elegant tannins, impeccable aging and great finesse. Domaine Perrot Minot also produces six Premier Crus, including a fine Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru Combe d'Orveau 2014, a wine of character whose delicacy is expressed with rare subtlety, rated 17.5/20 by Bettane & Desseauve and the RVF. Domaine Perrot Minot’s most notable vintages include 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005 and 2002.
