Wines from Domaine François Parent: buy at the best price

François Parent joined his vineyard in 1998 with that of Anne Françoise Gros, now known as AF Gros pour Anne et Francois Gros. Together they now farm 10 hectares of vines. They live in Pommard, but the cellars, winery and working buildings are in Beaune. The winemaking process is the same for all appellations. Differences arise during the ageing in the cellar, with varying proportions of new barrels depending on the cuvée. The village wines and premier crus, depending on the vintage, are aged in 40 to 60% new barrels. Pride of place is given to "Berthomieu"-type barrels, complemented by Rousseau barrels with a heavy toast. The domaine has built a fine reputation in particular with the Pommard premier crus Arvelets, Clos du Verger, Pezerolles and Rugiens.
