All Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru wines in Burgundy
Grands Échezeaux, located in the Côte de Nuits commune of Flagey-Échezeaux, is one of Burgundy's most prestigious Grand Crus. Covering an area of 9.14 hectares, this Grand Cru is planted exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes. The unique terroir, composed of clay-limestone soils rich in marl and active limestone, combined with a gentle slope and east-southeast exposure, guarantees optimal ripening of the grapes. Grands Échezeaux wines are distinguished by their ruby color, intense aromas of red fruits (cherry, blackberry), black fruits, floral notes (violet), spices and hints of truffles with age. Their silky tannic structure and balance offer remarkable ageing potential, often 20 to 30 years, or even longer for great vintages. Nestled between Clos de Vougeot and Echezeaux, this climat is farmed by renowned estates, including Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), which owns around 3.5 hectares (almost 40% of the appellation), as well as Georges Noellat, Gros Frère et Sœur and Lamarche.
