The Grands Echezeaux 1986 from Domaine François Lamarche, sourced from the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, is a Pinot Noir with aromas of black fruits and spices. Aged in barrels, it reveals an elegant, mineral and persistent palate. To be enjoyed with game or aged cheeses.
Domaine François Lamarche
A family estate rooted in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, where the Burgundian heritage has been passed down with rigor for generations.
- Terroir: prestigious plots in the Côte de Nuits, including Grands Echezeaux, where clay-limestone soils lend the wines a distinctive minerality.
- Vinification: a traditional approach combining respect for the fruit and elegance, yielding cuvées of remarkable precision.
Tasting notes for Domaine François Lamarche Grands Echezeaux 1986
To the eye: a garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of silky density and subtle brilliance.
On the nose: aromas of ripe black cherry, damp undergrowth, sweet licorice and faded violet, lifted by a chalky note and a hint of truffle.
On the palate: a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, with a long, taut finish where gentle spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 1986
A vintage marked by slow ripening and rare balance, ideal for age-worthy wines in Burgundy.
- Aging potential: still at its peak after nearly four decades; store under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity) for harmonious further development.
