The François Lamarche Grands Echezeaux 1983, a Grand Cru from Burgundy, comes from the clay-limestone hillsides of the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir offers notes of cherry, spices and a touch of vanilla. Velvety and mineral, it pairs with game and aged cheeses.
Domaine François Lamarche
Heir to a two-hundred-year-old winemaking tradition, this family estate rooted in Vosne-Romanée embodies the excellence of Burgundy's Grands Crus.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, cradle of the most prestigious appellations – Grands Echezeaux, La Grande Rue – where Pinot Noir reveals its full complexity.
- Vinification: Classic and respectful methods, combining patience and precision for wines of timeless elegance.
Tasting notes for Domaine François Lamarche Grands Echezeaux 1983
To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density through which the maturity of time is perceptible.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherry, damp undergrowth, licorice and black truffle, lifted by a mineral graphite note and a hint of blonde tobacco.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, saline finish where gentle spices linger.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to unlock its full complexity.
Vintage 1983
A vintage marked by early ripening and rare balance, where freshness blends with an already melted tannic structure.
- Aging potential: At its peak today, this wine can still be cellared for 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
