Our view on the 1969 vintage
the 1969 vintage was difficult for Bordeaux wines, and could have been a very good vintage if the September rains had not come to spoil the party. The 1969 red Bordeaux are then quite lean, and the 1969 white Bordeaux wines suffer from an excess of acidity. In 1969, Sauternes gave some decent wines. The Burgundy has released a very good vintage in 1969, with red Burgundy wines in a classic and strong style, with huge ageing potential as the sector Chablis white wines which has been particularly successful for this 1969 vintage (exceptional in Jean François Raveneau Estate). Very good wines in the Rhone Valley with 1969 Cote Rotie and 1969 Hermitage are beautiful and of good balance. Excellent 1969 sweet white wines among Loire wines.
