Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 1969
To the eye: A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety and deep texture, betraying age with discreet elegance.
On the nose: Aromas of blonde tobacco, burnished leather, dried tea leaves, then a saline touch of graphite and a delicate hint of red raspberry.
On the palate: A silky attack, lively and mineral acidity, tannins melted into a chalky framework, a long and taut finish where gentle spices linger.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

A rare vintage, shaped by a mild summer, where slow ripening preserved finesse and balance despite demanding technical conditions.
- Aging potential: Drink now, or cellar for a few more years in a cool cave (12-14°C) away from light.
