The name of Dominique Lafon is inseparable from the greatest white wines of Burgundy. A towering figure in Meursault and a driving force behind the international recognition of the Côte de Beaune, he has led the illustrious Domaine des Comtes Lafon since the 1980s. Since 2007, he has been developing in parallel a personal venture under his own name, across approximately 4.5 hectares spread between Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The chardonnays are chiseled, taut and remarkably precise, while the pinot noirs are airy and elegant. An ideal entry point into the world of an exceptional winemaker, whose cuvées from the family estate remain very difficult to obtain.

History of the Estate 

Dominique Lafon, owner of the very emblematic and excellent domaine des Comtes Lafon, has struck out on his own!

He launched his négociant house under his own name in 2007.  

Vines and Winemaking 

The Dominique Lafon estate now extends over 4.5 hectares of vines (Chardonnay for the whites and Pinot Noir for the reds) located on the Côte de Beaune in the appellations Bourgogne, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pernand Vergelesses and Beaune. 

In both colours, the selection of berries is meticulous and impeccable! He puts his own stamp on his new wines with a distinctive style, drawing the best from the terroirs as the outstanding winemaker he embodies. He proves it to us in every cuvée! 

The cuvées 

The whites are chiselled, precise and very pleasant with an incredible length on the palate. The reds are deep, airy and elegant! 

He thus produces two cuvées in generic Bourgogne (red and white) as well as several village wines (Volnay, Pernand Vergelesses, Meursault) and several premiers crus.
