Champagne A. Leconte Totem Brut, from Troissy’s chalky soils, combines Pinot Meunier (70%), Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a biodynamic blend. Apple, brioche and grapefruit notes, lively bubbles and a mineral finish. Fresh and precise, it pairs with oysters or can be kept for 3 to 5 years.
Nestled in the heart of Troissy, this family estate brings together Champagne winemaking tradition and a commitment to biodynamics.
- Terroir: Chalky and clay-limestone soils of the Vallée de la Marne, a heartland of Pinot Meunier where each plot reveals a unique mineral identity.
- Winemaking: A plot-by-plot approach that respects lunar cycles, producing cuvées in which pure fruit meets the terroir’s tension.
Tasting notes for Champagne Alexis Leconte Totem Brut
To the eye – A pale gold hue with green highlights, threaded with a stream of fine, persistent bubbles like a silky veil over the light.
On the nose – First the lively freshness of crisp apple and Williams pear, then toasted brioche, roasted almond and a saline touch reminiscent of the iodine notes of chalk cliffs.
On the palate – A precise, taut opening in which citrusy acidity meets chalky minerality, followed by a long, saline finish punctuated by a hint of bitter almond.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C in a narrow Champagne flute to preserve the delicacy of the bubbles.
