A. Leconte Arietis Brut Nature, from Vandières, expresses Pinot Meunier grown on Lutetian soils. Barrel-vinified, this Brut Nature combines chalky minerality, citrus and almond with a lively, saline palate. Perfect with oysters or lemon sole. Cellar for 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in Troissy, where Pinot Meunier finds rare precision through a maternal heritage and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: Two historic, south-facing plots in Vandières – with Lutetian sandy-limestone and clay-marl soils – shape wines with chalky minerality and vibrant tension.
- Winemaking: Whole-bunch pressing and fermentation in 400-liter barrels, without malolactic fermentation or lees stirring, for a pure, unembellished expression of Meunier.
Tasting notes for Alexis Leconte Arietis Brut Nature
Appearance: Pale gold with green highlights and crystal clarity, threaded with fine, persistent bubbles like a shower of silk.
Nose: Fresh apple and crisp almond intertwine with a delicate floral touch, while chalky minerality mingles with notes of creamy citrus – lemon and mandarin – and a spicy hint of mace and white pepper.
Palate: Direct, vibrant tension, driven by sharp acidity and exceptionally delicate mousse; the persistent, saline finish reveals almost chalky mineral length that hints at the terroir’s imprint.
Serve at 8–10 °C in a tall flute or white wine glass to preserve its freshness and aromatic complexity.
Non-vintage
A blended cuvée in which every bottle captures the essence of the Vandières plots, with a structure designed for 5 to 8 years of aging; store away from light and temperature fluctuations.
