Born on the soils of Chambertin, the 2021 vintage from Domaine Armand Rousseau is an exceptional Pinot Noir. Aged in barrels, it marries black berries, spices and undergrowth with a characteristic minerality. Its palate, powerful and refined, seduces with its velvety tannins. Ideal after 10 years of cellaring.
Domaine Armand Rousseau A family estate rooted in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where exacting standards and tradition have shaped exceptional wines for nearly a century. - Terroir : Mythical Grand Cru plots on clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir reveals its full depth and minerality. - Vinification : A respectful approach combining traditional fermentation in oak barrels and precise ageing to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir. Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a wine that is both generous and refined. To the nose – A bouquet of rare elegance, where notes of morello cherry and wild blackberry mingle with hints of faded violet, liquorice and damp undergrowth, underlined by a subtle chalky salinity. On the palate – A velvety, almost tactile texture, carried by a lively acidity and persistent minerality; the tannins, fine and powdery, frame a fruit of great purity, while the long, taut finish releases glints of soft spices and flint. Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity. Vintage 2021 A vintage marked by vibrant freshness, where climatic rigour has sculpted wines of remarkable tension and great aromatic precision. - Ageing potential : Keep for 15 to 20 years in the cellar under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
