This Champagne 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs Yuman 22 from Benoît Marguet, sourced from Vrigny, showcases Chardonnay. Fermented in barrels and without dosage, it combines notes of citrus, white flowers and a vanilla hint. Its mineral and lively palate pairs perfectly with oysters or sushi.
Fifth generation of a family rooted in Ambonnay, Benoît Marguet perpetuates a Champagne heritage where respect for the living guides every gesture.
- Terroir : Chalky and clay-limestone soils of the Premiers Crus of Vrigny and Ambonnay, where Chardonnay draws its minerality and tension.
- Vinification : Natural method – indigenous yeasts, aging in barrels, zero dosage – for cuvées of a crystalline purity.
Tasting notes for Benoît Marguet 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs Yuman 22
To the eye: A pale golden robe with green highlights, of a silky clarity, crossed by fine and persistent bubbles like a veil of silk.
On the nose: Aromas of hawthorn blossom and fresh lime, followed by a touch of toasted brioche and roasted hazelnut, all lifted by a discreet salinity reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality; the texture, both creamy and slender, stretches into a saline finish of remarkable length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a narrow Champagne flute to preserve the freshness of the aromas.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by early ripeness and a fine concentration, giving this Blanc de Blancs a balanced structure and a promising mineral tension.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed now or kept for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
