Champagne Benoit Marguet 1er Cru Yuman 22, a Blanc de Blancs from Vrigny, expresses its chalky soils and aging in old barrels. Its citrus and white-flower aromas, minerality and freshness make it an ideal match for seafood and fresh cheeses.
A family estate rooted in Ambonnay, where biodynamics and respect for the terroir shape champagnes of rare purity.
- Terroir: Chalky soils and Premier Cru plots in the Montagne de Reims, where Chardonnay thrives with vibrant minerality.
- Winemaking: A natural approach—indigenous yeasts, aging in old barrels and zero dosage—to reveal the essence of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for Benoit Marguet 1er cru Yuman 22
Appearance – A pale golden hue with crystalline clarity, threaded with fine, persistent mousse, like a veil of silk over stone.
Nose – Candied citrus (lime and pink grapefruit) comes first, followed by white flowers (hawthorn and acacia) and a touch of fresh almond, all supported by chalky minerality and a saline hint reminiscent of sea spray.
Palate – A silky, taut texture, with lively acidity and salinity mingling with notes of white-fleshed fruit (Williams pear and vineyard peach), before a long, precise finish driven by mineral tension.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a narrow champagne flute to preserve the freshness and delicacy of the bubbles.
NV (non-vintage)
A cuvée blended to embody the balance and freshness of Premier Cru Chardonnay, unconstrained by a single vintage.
- Aging potential: Enjoy now or within 5 years; store away from light and temperature fluctuations.
