The Benoît Marguet Verzenay Grand Cru 2020, from biodynamic Pinot Noir, reveals a unique chalky terroir. Mineral nose of apple and citrus, saline and chalky palate, with elegant tension and notes of peach. Ideal until 2035, it beautifully complements iodized and refined pairings.
A family estate rooted at the heart of the Montagne de Reims, where biodynamics reveals the soul of the Grands Crus.
- Terroir: Chalky soils of Verzenay, an emblematic Grand Cru, where Pinot Noir draws its minerality and tension.
- Vinification: Natural method, without dosage, for pure, taut champagnes faithful to their origin.
Tasting notes for the wine Benoît Marguet Verzenay Grand Cru 2020
On the eye: Golden robe with green reflections, of a silky and pearlescent texture, heralding a precise and persistent effervescence.
On the nose: Aromas of yellow and green apple, followed by a mentholated freshness, then a touch of tart grapefruit, all underlined by a chalky and saline minerality.
On the palate: Lively and chalky attack, where the tension of the fruit – white peach and vibrant apple – mingles with a saline phenolic quality, for a long and spiced finish, typical of the Marguet style.
Serve between 10°C and 12°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to reveal all of its complexity.
