Champagne & Rosé 

Champagne Sauvage, Meunier Brut Nature - Famille Delouvin 

Six months in stainless steel tanks and 36 months aging on lees in bottle: beautifully tended Meunier grapes make this a delight for fans of this style of Champagne—a quintessential grower Champagne! 

Notes of apple, peaches and ripe apricots, with almond aromas and hints of pastry. A slight oxidative character that may or may not appeal to you, a creamy mouthfeel, and lovely minerality and freshness to keep it all in balance! 

Geoffroy Delouvin is the tenth generation of the estate, which covers 7.5 hectares in Vandières, in the Marne—the heartland of Meunier. 

Château Galoupet Rosé

A lovely Provence rosé, considered a gastronomic rosé with excellent aging potential. 

Enjoy it as an aperitif or throughout a meal, thanks to its complexity. This organic, terroir-driven rosé is a blend of six grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Tibouren, Rolle, Cinsault and Sémillon). The nose is rich and highly expressive, with yellow peaches and floral notes, mango, pineapple and citrus such as grapefruit. It has body, a silky structure and a long, saline finish!

L’Aitonnement - Vesta 

Discover Domaine de l’Aitonnement and its lovely red and white cuvées in the heart of Savoie!  

The Vesta 2021 cuvée, 100% Roussanne, is a little gem from the Chignin Bergeron appellation. 

Bursting with freshness, this wine is balanced by lovely acidity, with aromas of white flowers, peach, citrus and apricot!

Domaine du Pélican - Chardonnay, Arbois 2020 

A lovely Jura Chardonnay, always enjoyable with a cheese board (or fish). White fruit, walnuts, white flowers… Distinctive tension and a finish of sweet citrus! Everything we love! Domaine du Pélican now belongs to Domaine Marquis d’Angerville, which has brought its Burgundy expertise to the Jura. A great success.

Domaine Alain Mathias, Côte de Grisey 2022

Another lovely up-and-coming Burgundy estate! Located in Chablis, Domaine Alain Mathias is expanding rapidly! A fairly classic style, but with precision and a keen expression of the different terroirs, at prices that are still accessible! 

Made from a single Chardonnay plot in Burgundy, this cuvée has a rich, complex nose, with floral and toasty notes and plenty of yellow fruit. Organic, unfined and unfiltered. Perfect with cheese or poultry. 

Domaine Combier - Crozes Hermitage White 2021

A beautiful Marsanne-Roussanne blend from Laurent Combier! A great success! 

A lovely array of aromas: acacia, pear, honeyed notes and dried fruit, with a touch of vanilla from barrel aging. The palate is beautifully rounded and rich, balanced by freshness, with a long, smooth finish showing flavors of honey and flowers. Decant for two hours and enjoy with poultry or fish! 

Domaine Zuria Initiale Bonifacio, White 2023

A lovely estate in Corsica to discover! 

Near Bonifacio, the estate blends Vermentio, Biancu Gentile and Genovese for this cuvée. White flowers and ripe fruit such as peach and pear. Length, minerality and breadth give it excellent aging potential, though it already tastes very good today. 

This refined wine would pair perfectly with a seafood risotto. 

Domaine Paul Prieur et Fils - Pieuchaud Silex, Sancerre 2022

A very fine Sancerre. 

This barrel-aged Loire wine has a lovely, subtly expressed oak character. Very fruity, with clear notes of peach, pear and citrus alongside floral hints, it has a delightfully long finish. 

Red wines 

Jamet, Côte Rôtie 2013

Côte Rôtie from Jamet… A must-try! The master of Côte Rôtie handled his whole clusters beautifully, despite 2013 being considered a cool vintage. That is also why it already drinks well today (after six hours in a decanter, it’s a delight). 

Very deep, bursting with blackcurrant, with a little well-integrated stem character, power and complexity—a real treat! 

We tasted it with a duck crumble; it would also pair perfectly with other richly flavored dishes. 

Domaine de Montcalmès, Terrasses du Larzac 2021

Always a delight! 

Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache: already very enjoyable today, and it will also be wonderful after a few years in the cellar. Nutmeg, dark fruit, spices and already a hint of leather. It will open up even more in a few years. Excellent value from Domaine Montcalmès, which is very much in vogue in the Languedoc! And perfect with authentic pasta carbonara! 

Domaine Combier, Crozes Hermitage 2022

Another Combier from the Crozes Hermitage appellation, but red this time! A skillfully made Syrah that reveals all its qualities: pepper, blackcurrant and black cherry, spices, violet… Intense and structured! 

To accompany it, we made an orzo risotto with sun-dried tomatoes, mascarpone, Parmesan and chorizo. The chorizo’s spice is a perfect match for this lovely spicy Syrah.

Sylvain Pataille - Burgundy 2020

A quick trip to Burgundy for oeufs meurette and escargots, followed by beef bourguignon with a lovely Pinot Noir from Sylvain Pataille! Still a little young and concentrated, it shows this winemaker’s consistently appealing style: small red berries, cherry and raspberry, a silky, mineral texture, and very little sulfur, giving it a somewhat natural character.

Fonsalette 2011

A magnificent cuvée from Emmanuel Reynaud, who, as always, brings out the best in his grapes and varieties in the Southern Rhône Valley. 

Fonsalette (vinified at Château Rayas) is a magnificent Côtes du Rhône cuvée. A blend of Grenache Noir, Cinsault and Syrah that will never leave you indifferent. 

A rich nose of ripe red fruit, floral notes of rose and dried flowers, and lovely spices. Superb on the palate: silky and smooth, with an exceptionally long, fresh finish. Truly excellent! 

Domaine Neumeyer Schaefferstein

Back to Alsace to taste a lovely Pinot Noir. Domaine Neumeyer produces many pure, organic cuvées, both red and white. Freshness, easy drinking and affordable prices from this fine Alsatian estate! We wanted to describe one of its Alsace Pinot Noirs. 

The wine is dark with violet reflections, and the nose is fresh and fruity, with distinct cherry and blueberry aromas. On the palate, it is rich, with lovely, well-integrated tannins and plenty of fruit. 

Luyt Louis Antoine, Huasa de Pilen Alto - Chile 

A lovely tasting of Chilean wine. 

No Carménère this time: this is 100% high-altitude Paìs! A natural wine aged in amphora at 11.5% ABV—not what you’re used to from Chile, and well worth trying! 

This is a deep wine that reflects its high-altitude origins: dried rose petals, red fruit, a touch of smoke and cedar, and a saline finish. 

It’s delicious and quite surprising!
