From the clay-limestone soils of Sauternes, the Château d'Yquem 2001 combines botrytized Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. This sweet wine, aged in oak barrels, offers notes of candied citrus and honey, carried by a vibrant acidity. Luscious and mineral, it pairs beautifully with foie gras or desserts.

Tasting notes for Château d'Yquem 2001
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, dense and luminous, like liquid honey captured in the glass, revealing a silky texture and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where candied apricot, bitter orange zest, acacia honey and a touch of saffron intermingle, before a mineral, almost saline note emerges to underscore the complexity.
On the palate – A smooth and generous entry, supported by a lively acidity that brings tension and balance, while nuances of candied fruits and soft spices linger in a remarkably long finish, both rich and of rare elegance.
