Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2008, from the limestone terroirs of the Gassac Valley, blends Viognier, Chardonnay, and Petit Manseng. It reveals peach and spice aromas with a lively, mineral palate. Enjoy with grilled fish or age it for greater complexity.
A family estate rooted in the Gassac Valley, where winemaking heritage meets exceptional terroir.
- Terroir: Lutetian limestone and glacial sandstone soils in the Hérault shape wines with rare minerality and freshness preserved by the valley’s cool microclimate.
- Winemaking: A meticulous blend of around twenty grape varieties, each fermented separately to reveal the complexity of a distinctive white wine.
Tasting notes for Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2008
Appearance – A golden color with pale highlights and a silky, luminous look.
On the nose – An aromatic symphony of ripe yellow peach, candied ginger, and a touch of light caramel, ending on a saline, chalky note characteristic of the valley’s soils.
On the palate – A lively, precise opening, with taut acidity balancing generous richness as minerality carries through to a long, elegant finish.
Serve at 10–12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
2008 vintage
In this vintage, the valley’s cool microclimate preserved natural acidity, providing an ideal balance for harmonious development in the bottle.
- Aging potential: The wine can mature gently if stored properly, away from light and temperature fluctuations.
