The Domaine Leroy Pommard Les Vignots 2000, from the clay-limestone soils of Pommard, expresses the elegance of Pinot Noir. Red fruits, floral notes and spices compose its bouquet, while its palate — ample and precise — offers a chalky minerality. To be enjoyed with roasted lamb.
Nestled in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Leroy embodies the alliance of a century-old family heritage and an uncompromising quest for terroir purity.
- Terroir: The Pommard vines, rooted in the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, lend the wines a mineral structure and a fruity elegance, the signature of great Burgundian Pinot Noirs.
- Winemaking: A biodynamic approach, hand harvesting and subtly dosed oak barrel aging preserve the natural tension and aromatic complexity of the cuvées.
Tasting notes for Domaine Leroy Pommard Les Vignots 2000
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density, heralding a wine that is both generous and refined.
On the nose – A bouquet blending fresh black cherry, blooming peony, a touch of liquorice and a subtle note of damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline and chalky hint.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity, where silky tannins, a discreet minerality and a long finish unfold, marked by aromas of ripe fruit and soft spices.
Serve at 16-17°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A vintage marked by generous maturity, where the balance between fruit and tannic structure offers a harmonious expression of the Pommard terroir.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed through 2030, or even beyond, provided it is stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from vibrations.
