Tasting notes for Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1979
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of velvety density, betraying the decades of bottle maturation.
On the nose – First aromas of candied blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of smoky cedar, blond tobacco, and a saline touch reminiscent of estuary breezes.
On the palate – A silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long finish where gentle spices and earthy red fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
