The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 1988, a fine wine of Pauillac, reveals deep gravels. An assemblage of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, it seduces with notes of dark fruits, cedar and undergrowth. Lively and silky, mineral on the finish, it pairs with game and cheeses until 2028.
A family estate rooted in the heart of Pauillac, where the deep gravels shape wines of timeless elegance.
- Terroir: 55 hectares of gravelly soils in the Pauillac appellation, cradle of the great wines of Bordeaux, where Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes with precision.
- Vinification: Traditional methods combining respect for the fruit and measured extraction, for cuvées of taut structure and long aging potential.
Tasting notes for Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste Grand Puy Lacoste 1988
To the eye: a garnet robe with tiled highlights, of a silky density and a brilliance subtly patinated by time.
On the nose: aromas of candied blackcurrant, grilled cedar and blonde tobacco, lifted by a touch of damp undergrowth and a chalky minerality characteristic of the great Pauillacs.
On the palate: a velvety attack, supported by a lively acidity and a tannic backbone still present, leading to a long and saline finish where sweet spices and notes of graphite intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
