Jean-François Ganevat « Julien en Billat L'Enfant Terrible du Sud » 2024 Magnum brings together Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau on the marl soils of Côtes du Jura. Vinified without additives, it offers red-fruit aromas and a lively palate. Perfect with simple dishes through 2034.
The fourteenth generation of a winemaking family rooted in Rotalier, the estate unites Jura heritage with a pursuit of natural purity.
- Terroir: The vines thrive on the slopes of Côtes-du-Jura, where marl, limestone and scree soils give the wines their distinctive minerality and characteristic tension.
- Winemaking: A biodynamic approach, indigenous yeasts and aging in truncated-cone vats preserve the unfiltered expression of the grape varieties and terroir.
Tasting notes for Jean-François Ganevat Julien en Billat l'Enfant Terrible du Sud 2024
Appearance – A crystal-clear cherry-red hue with a vivid glow and silky appearance, hinting at a palate that is both light and precise.
On the nose – A bright bouquet of crisp cherry, tart raspberry and redcurrant, lifted by floral notes of peony and violet, a hint of sweet spice and an herbal touch evocative of the Jura’s woodland undergrowth.
On the palate – A supple, juicy opening, supported by well-balanced natural acidity and exceptionally fine tannins; the fluid yet taut palate leads to a saline, refreshing finish marked by chalky minerality.
Serve at 14–16°C in a medium-sized red wine glass to reveal its full freshness and complexity.
