The Joseph Drouhin Aloxe-Corton 2018 is an emblematic cuvée from Maison Joseph Drouhin, a historic Burgundy producer since 1880. Based in Beaune, this family-run estate is renowned for its deep respect for terroir and commitment to biodynamic viticulture.
Sourced from the Aloxe-Corton appellation, at the foot of the Corton hillside, this wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir. The unique clay-limestone and gravel soils of the region provide both structure and depth to this refined wine.
Its deep ruby-red colour hints at its character. The nose offers complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, enhanced by subtle spicy and lightly oaked notes. On the palate, the wine is rich and silky, with well-integrated tannins and a lively freshness that balances the ripe fruit. The finish is long, with delicate mineral and forest floor nuances.
This elegant and structured Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with veal with morel mushrooms, duck breast, or an aged cheese like Époisses. A wine with great ageing potential, enjoyable both in its youth and after a few years of cellaring.
