The Joseph Drouhin Bonnes Mares 2020, from the chalky soils of Chambolle-Musigny, is a barrel-aged Pinot Noir. It offers aromas of morello cherry, raspberry and notes of tobacco. On the palate, a velvety texture and persistent minerality. Perfect with game or cheeses, it can be cellared until 2050.
A family house founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin has embodied Burgundian excellence across four generations, rooted at the heart of Beaune.
- Terroir : 100 hectares in Burgundy, including the prestigious Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares, on clay-limestone soils blending red and white marls, between Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis.
- Winemaking : Manual harvesting, ageing in French oak barrels (30% new), respect for indigenous yeasts and biodynamic rhythms for a pure expression of Pinot Noir.
To the eye: an intense ruby robe with deep highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: fresh aromas of morello cherry and raspberry intertwine with deeper notes of cherry wood, blonde tobacco and truffle, lifted by a chalky mineral touch.
On the palate: a velvety attack, carried by a lively tension and a saline minerality, with elegant tannins and a long finish, where earthy and spicy nuances unfold.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by remarkable concentration and an acid-sugar balance that presages great longevity.
- Ageing potential : 15 to 25 years, or beyond, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
