The Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches 2007, a Pinot Noir from the clay-limestone hillsides of Beaune. Nose: red fruits, spices and undergrowth, aged in barrels (25% new). Taut palate, silky tannins and chalky minerality. Perfect until 2032 with game or cheese.
A family estate founded in 1880, Domaine Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian elegance through a winemaking heritage passed down with rigour and passion.
- Terroir : Rooted in Beaune, the Clos des Mouches vineyard extends over clay-limestone soils, blending chalk and marl, for a mineral and precise expression of Pinot Noir.
- Vinification : Respect for tradition – manual harvesting, fermentation in open vats and ageing in French oak barrels, producing wines of silky tension and chalky length.
- To the eye : A deep ruby red robe, luminous and of velvety density, revealing a generous substance and a beautiful transparency.
- On the nose : Freshness of morello cherry and raspberry intertwines with deeper notes of liquorice, blonde tobacco and humus, underscored by a saline touch and a hint of black pepper.
- On the palate : A frank and fleshy attack, carried by silky tannins and a lively acidity, while a chalky minerality structures a long and taut finish, where aromas of undergrowth and soft spices unfold.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration combine to offer a wine of accessible elegance, while maintaining a beautiful tension.
- Ageing potential : To be kept until 2032 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
