Joseph Drouhin Chambertin-Clos de Bèze 2022, born on the chalky soils of Gevrey-Chambertin. This Grand Cru Pinot Noir marries black cherry and chocolate, evolving towards truffle and leather. Its velvety texture and mineral finish make it a wine for ageing. Perfect after 15 years, with game or cheese.
A family house founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian rigour through four generations of expertise.
- Terroir: the Chambertin-Clos de Bèze vines, nestled on the slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, draw their character from a chalky soil mixed with red clay and shattered stones, the signature of the Côte de Nuits.
- Vinification: a delicate approach – manual harvesting, ageing in partially new oak barrels – to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and reveal the elegance of the terroir.
To the eye: a deep ruby robe, of a silky density, where light dances with a mineral intensity.
On the nose: first fresh black cherry, then bitter dark chocolate, before notes of damp undergrowth emerge along with a saline touch, like a breath of wind over limestone stones.
On the palate: a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky tension, stretching into a long finish where liquorice and ripe fruits mingle, leaving a persistent mineral imprint.
Serve at 16-18 °C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and rare concentration, where Pinot Noir expresses its full precision without losing freshness.
- Ageing potential: 30 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12-14 °C) away from light.
