The Larmandier-Bernier 1er Cru Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut reveals the chalky soils of Vertus. Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, macerated for 2–3 days: a lively palate, notes of strawberry and a pronounced minerality. Dosed at 3 g/l, it enhances charcuterie and roasted meats through its balance.
A family estate rooted in Vertus since 1971, Larmandier-Bernier embodies the alliance between Champagne tradition and organic viticulture.
- Terroir: Chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs, Premier Cru de Vertus – a mineral signature and a vibrant freshness.
- Winemaking: Gentle methods (enameled vats, concrete eggs), extended aging on lees to reveal the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée Premier Cru Extra Brut
In the glass: A rosé robe with salmon hues, of a silky and luminous texture, like a peony petal resting on the glass.
On the nose: Crunchy wild strawberry, morello cherry and tangy pomegranate intertwine with notes of blood orange peel, the whole underlined by a saline and chalky touch, the signature of Vertus soils.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, where mineral tension embraces a velvety texture, carried by an elegant acidity and a long finish, marked by aromas of candied red fruits and a hint of gentle spices.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2021
A vintage marked by a balanced ripeness, where cool nights preserved the acidity and the purity of aromas.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
