Tasting notes for Château Léoville Las Cases 2013
To the eye – A deep, dense and luminous garnet robe, already hinting at the tension of a wine built for ageing.
On the nose – First, ripe dark fruits, blackberry and blueberry, then notes of cedar and blonde tobacco, before a saline touch and a hint of iodine reveal the maritime influence of the terroir.
On the palate – A silky yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and fine tannins, while a chalky minerality and a saline finish extend the tasting experience with a lingering elegance.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
