Tasting notes for Château Léoville Las Cases 1986
On the eye: A deep garnet red robe, of a silky density, where the vivacity of a great wine at maturity can still be sensed.
On the nose: First notes of blackcurrant and candied blackberry, followed by wafts of cedar, graphite and blond tobacco, before a saline touch and a hint of black truffle.
On the palate: An ample and velvety texture, carried by a precise acidity and a chalky minerality, for a finish of saline length and persistent freshness.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
