Tasting notes for Château Léoville Las Cases 1986
To the eye: A deep garnet-red color with a silky density, still hinting at the vitality of a mature fine wine.
On the nose: Initial notes of blackcurrant and blackberry preserve give way to aromas of cedar, graphite and light tobacco, followed by a saline touch and a hint of black truffle.
On the palate: A full, velvety texture, underpinned by precise acidity and chalky minerality, leads to a long, saline finish with lingering freshness.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
