Clos de la Bergerie 2023, Chenin Blanc from Savennières on schist and granite. Vinified in barrels, it offers white fruits, citrus and a vibrant minerality. Fresh palate, long finish. Perfect for 8–10 years of aging, with oysters or goat's cheese.
Heir to a Loire viticultural tradition dating back to the 17th century, this estate embodies the alliance between an exceptional terroir and a pioneering biodynamic philosophy.
- Terroir: Schist and granite of Savennières, where Chenin Blanc draws its minerality and tension from the steep hillsides of the Loire.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels, with a discreet touch of new wood, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Nicolas Joly Coulée de Serrant Savennières Clos de la Bergerie 2023
To the eye – A golden robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and silky texture, like a veil of light over the schist.
On the nose – Aromas of Williams pear and acacia blossom unfold into a lemony freshness, before giving way to notes of gunflint and a saline touch, the signature of the great Loire terroirs.
On the palate – Mineral tension guides a vibrant palate, where lively acidity and a chalky texture balance into a long, saline finish, carried by a natural elegance.
Serving temperature: 10–12°C – Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
