All wines from the Savennières appellation in the Loire

One of the jewels of the Loire hillsides, spanning 340 ha, producing one of the greatest French white wines. Made from the Chenin grape variety, its white wines are predominantly dry, yet displaying great breadth and richness, and a few sweet wines are produced in exceptional vintages such as 1959, 1971, 1985, 1989, 1990, 2001, 2002, 2005, as well as the years 1928, 1929 and 1976, which yielded sumptuous vintages. A new generation of winemakers (Damien Laureau, Eric Morgat, among others) settled in Savennières in the late 1990s, and a true revolution in vineyard and cellar practices began to transform the austere reputation of this appellation, making it possible to enjoy excellent wines from their earliest years. Two sub-appellations exist: Savennières-Coulée de Serrant, a single domaine de 7 ha, farmed biodynamically by the Joly family, and Savennières-La Roche aux Moines, covering 33 ha.
