The Champagne Côte de Val Vilaine R23, Cédric Bouchard's 2023 cuvée, reveals the chalky terroir of Val Vilaine. This Blanc de Noirs, pure Pinot Noir, captivates with its notes of citrus and saline minerality. Fresh and taut, it will pair beautifully with oysters and noble fish from 2025 onwards.
A Champagne estate rooted in the Côte des Bar, where Cédric Bouchard has perpetuated a legacy of parcel-level precision since 2000.
- Terroir: Chalky soils of Celles-sur-Ource, the cradle of the most tensile Pinot Noirs in Champagne.
- Vinification: Minimalist approach – manual harvesting, gentle pressing, barrel aging to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for the wine Roses de Jeanne Côte de Val Vilaine R23
To the eye – Pale golden robe with green highlights, of a silky clarity, traversed by a fine and persistent effervescence.
On the nose – Freshness of gooseberry and elderflower, evolving towards notes of morello cherry and toasted bread, with a saline touch recalling the chalky soils.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality; the texture is at once creamy and slender, leaving a saline finish of remarkable length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a narrow Champagne flute to concentrate the aromas.
