Pierre Gerbais La Loge Pinot Blanc Extra Brut, from Kimmeridgian soils, showcases Pinot Blanc from 80-year-old vines. Aged on racks for 36 months, this non-vintage champagne combines freshness and minerality with an Extra Brut dosage (3 g/l). Ideal with cheese or grilled fish.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of the Aube, where time shapes champagnes of rare authenticity.
- Terroir: Kimmeridgian soils in Celles-sur-Ource, the source of chalky minerality and saline tension unique in Champagne.
- Winemaking: An artisanal, perpetual approach in which the solera reserve is blended with base wines aged in stainless steel, allowing a pure expression of Pinot Blanc.
Tasting notes for Pierre Gerbais La Loge Pinot Blanc Extra Brut
Appearance – A pale gold color with green highlights and silky clarity, enlivened by fine, persistent bubbles.
On the nose – Aromas of crisp green apple, hawthorn blossom and candied lemon zest intertwine with a saline touch, like a sea breeze over warm stones.
On the palate – A creamy yet taut texture, supported by lively acidity and chalky minerality, extending into a saline finish of elegant length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a champagne flute or white wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
Non-vintage
A cuvée that seems to suspend time, blending the freshness of the base wines with the depth of a perpetual reserve dating back to 2011.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years; store in a cool place (12–14°C), away from light.
