The Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots 2015 reveals the elegance of the clay-limestone soils of Aux Reignots. This oaked Pinot Noir offers aromas of cherry and spices, a silky and mineral palate. Perfect through 2030 paired with a porcini risotto or a rib of beef.
Domaine Sylvain Cathiard
A family estate rooted in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with rare precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Côte de Nuits, cradle of the great Burgundian crus, shaping wines of a mineral elegance.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, controlled aging in oak barrels, for cuvées where the purity of the fruit marries the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots 2015
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry, violet and liquorice, followed by a hint of undergrowth and a subtle chalky note, evoking the limestone soils of the climat.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, melted yet present tannins, a saline minerality that carries a long finish where soft spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full finesse.
Vintage 2015
A generous and balanced vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without altering their freshness, yielding structured and harmonious wines.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be kept under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
