Tasting notes for Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 1999
To the eye: A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of silky density, betraying a fully achieved maturity and a harmonious structure.
On the nose: A generous bouquet unfolds in layers – fresh wild strawberry, candied black cherry, a hint of roasted coffee, then notes of gentle spices and a subtle chalky saltiness.
On the palate: The attack is ample and velvety, carried by silky yet present tannins, a lively acidity that brings tension, and a long, mineral finish where persistence and freshness intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 1999

- Ageing potential: Drink until 2025-2030, store in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
