Conseillante

The estate has been producing 2 red Bordeaux wines. The Conseillante first wine called the "Grand Vin de la Conseillante", and since 2007, a second wine is produced, called “Duo de Conseillante”. When Jean Michel Laporte arrived (until 2015) at the technical management, the wines quality increased a lot thanks to the search for optimal maturity, as well as an enhanced selection of grapes, and thanks to the creation of the second wine. Now advised by the eminent oenologist Michel Rolland (since 2013), this great red wine reveals more than ever its finesse, its smoothness, a certain fruity freshness, and the complexity, especially in the best vintages: 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2000, 1990, 1989, 1985 and 1982. For those vintages and after a 10 to 20 years ageing period, Château La Conseillante will show the typical complex character of the best Pomerol red wines. The second wine, Duo de Conseillante, is vinified with the same care and to the same quality level than the great wine but on a selection of younger plots. It is aged for 18 months in 50% of new barrels and will be ready to drink after 5 to 8 years depending on the vintage. This second wine makes it easier to approach La Conseillante type of wines. Indeed, the Château la Conseillante enjoys a great reputation in Pomerol, and international demand for these wines is strong.
