A family estate rooted in the heart of Pomerol, where the winemaking heritage has been passed down through generations.
- Terroir: Grey clay and sandy gravel soils in the Pomerol appellation, lending the wines a deep structure and a distinctive minerality.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels, with a touch of amphorae to preserve the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc varietals.
Tasting notes for Château La Conseillante Conseillante 1990
To the eye: A garnet-red robe with tiled reflections, of a silky density and a subtle brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black fruits, kirsch and liquorice, enhanced by notes of soft spices and an earthy hint of truffle, all underpinned by a chalky minerality.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and an elegant tension, where flavours of prune, cocoa and a long, persistent saline finish intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
