Château Petit Faurie de Soutard (35 km east of Bordeaux) is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé owned by the Capdemourlin family, who also own the Balestard la Tonnelle estate. The château borders the Soutard estate (whose vineyard was once part of Petit Faurie de Soutard’s), as well as Balestard la Tonnelle, Clos de l’Oratoire and Faurie de Souchard. The Capdemourlin family has 8 hectares of vines planted at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare on clay-limestone slopes and sandy soils at the foot of the hills. The vineyard, farmed using sustainable practices, is around 35 years old and planted with 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate therefore produces no white wine.

It is a powerful, concentrated wine with low acidity and pronounced tannins, especially in the 2000 vintage. This fine wine can be cellared for 5 to 15 years. The best vintages of Château Petit Faurie de Soutard are 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2001, 2000 and 1998.
