Domaine JOBLOT is located in Givry in Côte Chalonnaise: it is the star of the appellation and a true benchmark for over 20 years in Burgundy. Charles Joblot, father of Jean-Marc and Vincent, was instrumental in establishing the Givry AOC, which was King Henry IV's favorite cru. Today, Juliette Joblot is at the head of the estate. She has fully succeeded her father Jean-Marc Joblot and her uncle Vincent Joblot since 2012, and she has gradually imposed her views and her mark on the vinification of the estate's various cuvées. 

A quality that expresses all the rigor of the estate: high planting density with low yields, destemming and indigenous yeasts. 

Wines are made in the vineyard: it is therefore necessary to prioritize the quality of tannins and the freshness of the fruit. Thus, harvests are carried out after multiple tastings of the berries based on the acidity balance of the grape: they are therefore carried out fairly early in 7 to 8 days maximum. The grapes are vinified with minimal intervention, which produces wines of rare freshness, an inimitable characteristic of the estate's wines. The wine style thus relies on the purity of the fruit, roundness, and charm, all in elegance! 

The Cuvées of Domaine Joblot 

The estate offers a beautiful collection of Premiers Crus as well as Village appellations. There are no fewer than 7 Givry Premier Cru: 5 reds and 2 whites.
In red: Joblot Givry Premier Cru Bois Chevaux, Joblot Givry Premier Cru Servoisine, Joblot Givry Premier Cru L'empreinte, Joblot Givry Premier Cru Clos Marole, Joblot Givry Premier Cru Cellier Aux Moins and in white: Joblot Givry Premier Cru En Veau and Joblot Givry Premier Cru Mademoiselle.

The hillsides face South/South East, on clay-limestone soils, with high planting density. The wines of Domaine Joblot impress with their tension and superb mineral structure, in both red and white. The various cuvées are aged for 12 months for the Premiers Crus, with approximately 40 to 50% new barrels. The objective is always to limit the oak impact and favor freshness, while emphasizing the minerality of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Jean Marc Joblot, with his training as an oenologist, had carried the colors of Domaine Joblot high since 1979, assisted in the vineyards by his brother Vincent who joined him in 1986. All enthusiasts seeking excellent value for money in Burgundy knew the excellent reputation of the estate. Juliette Joblot, now at the head of the family estate, is gently evolving the style, in continuity with the estate's wines of excellence, while lightening the aging of the estate's whites for even more elegance and finesse. 

Among the 1ers crus that contributed to establishing the reputation of Domaine Joblot, the "Servoisine" cuvée is situated on one of Givry's noblest terroirs, on clay-limestone soil, with a full southern exposure. Its refinement and depth offer all the complexity of a Premier Cru from the Côte de Nuits, with a deep and complex nose, full of power. Fruit and spices explode in the glass and continue to evolve toward a very present mineral character. On the palate, the wine presents beautiful power, refinement, and complexity, with tannins of great elegance, and very long persistence. The wine has aging potential of at least 10/12 years. 

The 1er cru "Cellier aux moines" from Joblot is adjacent to "La Servoisine": always on exceptional terroir and established on the upper part of a south-facing clay-limestone hillside. The vines are approximately 35 years old, and aging in wood lasts about 1 year with 50% new barrels and 50% previously used barrels. Its color is dark, displaying a very dense and concentrated appearance. The nose exudes notes of ripe blackcurrant, kirsch cherries, and quite pronounced spice notes. The mouth is smooth and the palate truly enchanting, continuing with a gourmet and airy finish, perfectly balanced. It is a must for finesse, which will keep for at least 10 years. 

The 1er cru "Pied de Chaume" (red) is a cuvée from stony, marly-limestone soils. Juliette Joblot was able to bring this cuvée to the summit of the Côte Chalonnaise: she worked the soils very precisely and measured the yields. The wine is thus charming, balanced, and focused on toasted and fruity notes. The smooth and generous mouth, well balanced, then gives way to magnificent aromatic persistence around black fruits. 

The 1er cru Clos Marole comes from 40-year-old vines! It offers a beautiful ruby robe and very pure red and black fruit aromas. A supple, gourmet, and fruity mouth is structured by a light undergrowth as well as fine and elegant tannins.
