Heir to artisanal expertise rooted in the steep slopes of Cornas, this family estate embodies the spirit of the northern Rhône through wines of rare authenticity.
- Terroir: South-facing granite and clay soils in the Cornas appellation, from which Syrah draws its minerality and tension.
- Winemaking: Traditional methods—whole-bunch fermentation, extended barrel aging, and no fining or filtration—produce cuvées of silky precision.
Tasting notes for Domaine Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard 2020
Appearance: Deep purple with dense highlights and an almost velvety look, revealing generous fruit and measured extraction.
On the nose: Fresh blackcurrant intertwines with peppery violet, followed by darker notes of aged leather and dried blood, plus a saline touch recalling the terroir’s schist soils.
On the palate: A full, silky texture, driven by lively acidity and chalky minerality, while fine yet evident tannins structure a long, saline finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
