The Cornas 2023 from Domaine Auguste Clape, born on granitic soils, is a Syrah red wine with notes of ripe fruits, spices and violets. Its dense texture and mineral freshness make it a wine for aging, ideal with grilled meats or rich dishes.
A family estate rooted in the granitic terraces of Cornas, where Syrah expresses itself with rare authenticity.
- Terroir: Eight hectares of steep hillsides in the Cornas appellation, on granitic soils that sculpt the minerality and tension of the wines.
- Winemaking: Traditional methods – whole bunches, patient aging – for cuvées of dense structure and wild character.
Tasting notes for Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 2023
To the eye: A deep purple robe with dense hues, almost silky in its intensity.
On the nose: First notes of wild blackberry and crunchy blackcurrant, followed by hints of wilted violet, aged leather and a saline touch reminiscent of sun-warmed stones.
On the palate: A full yet precise texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long finish where gentle spices and elegant tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to fully release its complexity.
