The Auguste Clape Cornas Renaissance 2019, from the granitic soils of Cornas, is a pure and precise Syrah. Its notes of black fruits, pepper and spices combine with a dense, silky structure. Perfect for aging (2025-2040), it pairs with game and aged cheeses.
Domaine Auguste Clape
A pillar of the Cornas appellation, this family estate has embodied since 1949 the pursuit of excellence and fidelity to the granitic terroir of the northern Rhône.
- Terroir: Syrah planted on the steep slopes of Cornas, where the schistous and granitic soils sculpt wines of vibrant minerality and unique tension.
- Vinification: Aged in used oak foudres, respecting natural cycles and measured extraction to preserve the purity of fruit and freshness.

To the eye: Deep red robe with violet hues, dense and silky.
On the nose: Freshness of wild blackberry and blueberry, followed by a touch of thyme and rosemary, then a saline note and a whisper of graphite.
On the palate: A fleshy yet elegant texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, peppery finish where black fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its complex aromas.
Vintage 2019
A sunny yet balanced vintage, where summer heat ripened the grapes without altering their freshness or tension.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
